Wolf Chair in Black/Williams

$359 $420

A solid and comfortable chair for the kitchen, home office or dining room. The pine, dished seat is generous in size and provides ample room for one's bottom to rest with ease. The back posts are integral to the leg assembly, transferring weight directly to the floor. And with a pegged, solid maple frame, our Wolf Ears Chairs will hold together for years and years. We've sold hundreds, probably thousands over the years, and we're yet to see one in for repairs.

And the name? The tops of the distinctively shaped back posts remind us of an attentive wolf.

  • Growing up, we'd go on family ski trips to Mont Sainte Anne. We'd visit Quebec City and tour around Île d'Orléans. Always on the look out for interesting furniture, we'd seek out objects and expressions of the local vernacular. We rented ski chalets and had a funny habit of rearranging the furniture and re-imagining the decor. These were great trips. Family times, great skiing and good food. We noticed that the wood furniture had a local flavour and we adored the old painted finishes. Our Champlain Collection was inspired by those trips.

Dished Seat

A mark of craftsmanship and a sign of comfort, a dished chair seat provides a full measure of additional design refinement. Character in the wood grain is revealed along a third dimension. The play of light is more lively across the molded contours. A hint at its intended purpose, its natural compliment in relief.

Available as an Arm Chair

Traditionally placed at the ends of the table, and arm chair is always a comfortable choice. Support for the arms and shoulders make for a relaxed posture and a sense of destiny; they don't call it a Captains Chair for nothing.

Precision Joinery

We always appreciate a job done right. The back rail of our Wolf Ears Chairs is mortised through each post in two places. These joints are wedged into place, glued and pegged. A traditional method to be sure, and remarkably robust. The exposed joints are an aesthetic choice — we think they look great — and a sure sign of a job well done.
