Story
The chair of choice for all-night dinners and all-day computer sessions.
A classic Windsor sack-back armchair, and one of the most comfortable chairs we’ve tested. With a spacious, sculpted seat, and pitch-perfect posture, feedback on the long lasting, comfortable sit is unanimously positive.
Solid wood throughout, hand made in Ontario and sure to last a lifetime. The leg and back assemblies are ash, including the steam-bent back and arm hoops, and the seat is pine. Rake-and-splay legs are affixed to the seat mechanically, and glued. The top of the legs form though-tenons, which slot into tapered mortices in the seat. Finally, glued wedges are hammered into the top of the legs from above, locking them into place. It's an elegant technique and a proven, resilient joint. The four visible leg-tops in the surface of the seat are a nice touch.
Traditionally placed at the ends of the table, an armchair is always a comfortable choice. Support for the arms and shoulders make for a relaxed posture and a sense of destiny. They don't call it a Captain's chair for nothing.
